«Recurring Revenue» Panel By @AriaSystemsInc | @CloudExpo [#Cloud]

With the explosion of the cloud, more businesses are transitioning to a recurring revenue model to generate reliable sales, grow profits, and open new markets. This opportunity requires businesses to get to market quickly with the pricing and packaging options customers want. In addition, you will want to take advantage of the ensuing tidal wave of data to more effectively upsell, cross-sell and manage your customers. All of this is possible, but only with the right approach.
At 15th Cloud Expo, Brendan O’Brien, Co-founder at Aria Systems and the inventor of cloud billing panelists, will lead a panel discussion on what it takes to launch and manage a successful recurring revenue business. The panelists will offer their insights about what each department will need to consider, from financial management to line of business and IT. The panelists will also offer examples from their success in recurring revenue with companies such as Audi, Constant Contact, Experian, Pitney-Bowes, Telekom Denmark and others. This panel will include Brendan O’Brien from Aria Systems, Chief Architect and inventor of cloud billing, and a host of executives with varying subject matter and department expertise.

Bitcoin and Network Security | @CloudExpo

The trend of virtual currencies is likely not a fad; we’re merely seeing the beginning of what will likely turn into a common practice. Network security revolving around virtual currency exchanges still needs to improve, but once that happens, those improvements may even solve network security problems in other industries as well. Whatever the future holds, the likes of Bitcoin and other virtual currencies will surely be a major part of it.

The Future of Security in the Cloud By @HPHelionCloud | @CloudExpo

Advanced Persistent Threats (APTs) are increasing at an unprecedented rate. The threat landscape of today is drastically different than just a few years ago. Attacks are much more organized and sophisticated. They are harder to detect and even harder to anticipate. In the foreseeable future it’s going to get a whole lot harder. Everything you know today will change. Keeping up with this changing landscape is already a daunting task. Your organization needs to use the latest tools, methods and expertise to guard against those threats. But will that be enough? In the foreseeable future attacks will originate from entirely new attack platforms. The tools and methods you use today will not protect you from the threats you will face tomorrow. Your security experts will be no match for this new threat. Where will these attacks come from? It isn’t where you think.

Network Security: Is It Time to Think Like a Thief? By @McAfee | @CloudExpo

What do a firewall and a fortress have in common? They are no longer strong enough to protect the valuables housed inside. Like the walls of an old fortress, the cracks in the firewall are allowing the bad guys to slip in – unannounced and unnoticed. By the time these thieves get in, the damage is already done and the network is already compromised. Intellectual property is easily slipped out the back door leaving no trace of forced entry. If we want to reign in on these cybercriminals, it’s high time we start thinking the way these thieves think. If we don’t, malware, rootkits, AETs and other nefarious threats will continue to undermine our sense of security.

Building High IOPS Flash Array By @Innodisk_Corp | @CloudExpo [#Cloud]

With the rapid advancement of processor technologies, disk access has been identified as the next performance bottleneck in many cloud computing applications. In recent years, storage appliances based on flash memory technologies have been deemed as practical solutions to resolving such performance bottleneck. However, high-end flash appliances are mostly built with proprietary hardware designs, aiming at particular scenarios in larger-scale data centers, and hence are barely affordable by enterprise and industry customers that are also deploying private clouds. Innodisk FlexiRemap™ technology, on the other hand, deals with the challenges of performance, data endurance, and affordability through innovations on software and firmware, creating a new category of flash-collaborative (in contrast to flash-aware or flash-optimized) storage appliances that deliver sustained high IOPS, even for random write operations.
