[slides] #IoT for #DigitalTransformation | @ThingsExpo @Ocean9Inc #BigData

IoT is at the core or many Digital Transformation initiatives with the goal of re-inventing a company’s business model. We all agree that collecting relevant IoT data will result in massive amounts of data needing to be stored. However, with the rapid development of IoT devices and ongoing business model transformation, we are not able to predict the volume and growth of IoT data. And with the lack of IoT history, traditional methods of IT and infrastructure planning based on the past do not apply either.

DX with #LowCode and #NoCode Platforms | @ClodExpo @WavewMaker #DevOps #AI #ML #DX

From manual human effort the world is slowly paving its way to a new space where most process are getting replaced with tools and systems to improve efficiency and bring down operational costs. Automation is the next big thing and low code platforms are fueling it in a significant way.
The Automation era is here. We are in the fast pace of replacing manual human efforts with machines and processes. In the world of Information Technology too, we are linking disparate systems, softwares and tools to make things self sustaining. This is called Automation. It has been helping companies overcome the hurdles of traditional methodologies and optimize operations. It has helped many enterprises achieve greater levels of efficiency and quality. Intelligent automation systems can sense and process loads of information and can automate entire processes.. Applications range from the routine to the more complex ones collecting, analyzing, and making decisions . help companies think beyond conventional methods to achieve unprecedented levels of efficiency and quality.

[slides] If #IoT Is the Meteor | @ThingsExpo @Cisco_IoT #AI #DX #DigitalTransformation

In his session at @ThingsExpo, Sudarshan Krishnamurthi, a Senior Manager, Business Strategy, at Cisco Systems, discussed how IT and operational technology (OT) work together, as opposed to being in separate siloes as once was traditional. Serverless, FaaS, AWS Lambda | @CloudExpo #AWS #CloudNative #Serverless

If you are part of the cloud development community, you certainly know about “serverless computing”, almost a misnomer. Because it implies there are no servers which is untrue. However the servers are hidden from the developers. This model eliminates operational complexity and increases developer productivity. We came from monolithic computing to client-server to services to microservices to serverless model. In other words, our systems have slowly “dissolved” from monolithic to function-by-function. Software is developed and deployed as individual functions – a first-class object and cloud runs it for you. These functions are triggered by events which follows certain rules. Functions are written in fixed set of languages, with a fixed set of programming model and cloud-specific syntax and semantics. Cloud-specific services can be invoked to perform complex tasks. So for cloud-native applications, it offers a new option. But the key question is what should you use it for and why.

[slides] Culture: Change or Die | @DevOpsSummit @AccentureTech #DevOps #AI #ML #DX

All organizations that did not originate this moment have a pre-existing culture as well as legacy technology and processes that can be more or less amenable to DevOps implementation. That organizational culture is influenced by the personalities and management styles of Executive Management, the wider culture in which the organization is situated, and the personalities of key team members at all levels of the organization. This culture and entrenched interests usually throw a wrench in the works because of misaligned incentives.

Is #DevOps Falling into the Maturity Trap? | @DevOpsSummit #AI #CloudNative

Many organizations are now looking to DevOps maturity models to gauge their DevOps adoption and compare their maturity to their peers. However, as enterprise organizations rush to adopt DevOps, moving past experimentation to embrace it at scale, they are in danger of falling into the trap that they have fallen into time and time again.

Unfortunately, we’ve seen this movie before, and we know how it ends: badly.

The Four Core Capabilities of #DevOps | @DevOpsSummit #Serverless #CloudNative

DevOps is good for organizations. According to the soon to be released State of DevOps Report high-performing IT organizations are 2X more likely to exceed profitability, market share, and productivity goals. But how do they do it? How do they use DevOps to drive value and differentiate their companies?

We recently sat down with Nicole Forsgren, CEO and Chief Scientist at DORA (DevOps Research and Assessment) and lead investigator for the State of DevOps Report, to discuss the role of measurement in DevOps Success. From years of research into DevOps operations and culture, Forsgren and her colleagues have found that success depends on improving two key outcomes—speed and stability. These, she says, are crucial for driving improvement in organizational performance and value.

Connected Government and #IoT | @ThingsExpo @Wipro #AI #DX #SmartCities

IoT in connected Government helps to deliver better citizen services and provides transparency. It helps in delivering contextual and personalized service to citizens, enhances the security, and improves the quality of life. The reference architecture provides guidance for the development of government systems, solutions and application architecture. A reference architecture provides a common framework and allows the design to follow the consistent definitions for the system of interest, its decompositions and design patterns.
