TelecityGroup to Bring PCaaS to the UK By @BlueBox | @DevOpsSummit [#DevOps]
As we recently previewed (read more about our London PoP in Jesse’s post), Blue Box is opening a new Data Center in London, but hadn’t announced the provider. Today we’re excited to partner with TelecityGroup, whom we’ve selected as our data center partner in London. We chose their Powergate location, which is one of the U.K.’s most advanced, flexible and energy efficient carrier-neutral data centres.
Why does that matter to you? Well, when customers choose Blue Box, they’re trusting us with their most valuable assets, apps and data. As most folks are realizing, every company is a technology company, and data is one of the most valuable assets any organization has. Partnering with organizations that share our commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences, competitive pricing and game-changing services matter to our customers.
Keys to Success for Continuous Monitoring in Government | @CloudExpo [#Cloud]
In recent years, the US government has become a leading advocate for continuous monitoring of security threats and vulnerabilities. But how effectively are departments and agencies in implementing these programs? And how do we measure success?
Moving Towards Continuous Monitoring
Though it’s become a popular concept, continuous monitoring wasn’t always in vogue. When the Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA) was enacted in 2002, the law required agencies to document security practices, including taking inventory of information systems and writing security plans. External firms would audit the plans and grade departments and agencies based on their efforts.

The Rise of Private Equity in Technology By @JnanDash | @CloudExpo [#Cloud]
Last week, a public company Informatica got acquired by two private equity funds – the Permira fund and Canada Pension Plan Investment Board (CPPIB) for $5.3B. This is the biggest leveraged buyout so far this year.
I am happy for my friend Sohaib Abbasi (we were colleagues at Oracle during the 1990s) who is CEO of Informatica after being a board member for a couple of years. During Sohaib’s time, the company entered into playing a bigger role in data archiving and life cycle management. It also made progress into offering cloud-based services.
