Usually start-ups hit the radar with their 1.0 flagship release. RackWare, founded in 2009, waited for the 2.0 release of its Management Module (RMM) on Tuesday.
It’s apparently been too busy helping IT teams at Macy’s, Citi, Reuters, Amazon and SunGard take full advantage of their clouds to publicly enter the cloud infrastructure market, unveiling software that enables users to build any type of cloud – public, private or hybrid – without requiring application or operational changes.
The RMM widgetry is supposed to let users leverage their existing investments in infrastructure and applications and get four times greater availability and reliability in the process.
