MapR Amplifies Power of Kubernetes | @KubeSUMMIT @MapR #CloudNative #Serverless #DevOps #Docker #Kubernetes
Implementation of Container Storage Interface (CSI) for Kubernetes delivers persistent storage for compute running in Kubernetes-managed containers. This future-proofs Kubernetes+Storage deployments. Unlike the Kubernetes Flexvol-based volume plugin, storage is no longer tightly coupled or dependent on Kubernetes releases. This creates greater stability because the storage interface is decoupled entirely from critical Kubernetes components allowing separation of privileges as CSI components do not need full privileges of Kubernetes components. With the implementation of Container Storage Interface (CSI), persistent data layer for Kubernetes and other Container Orchestration (CO) tools, such as Mesos and Docker Swarm are now future-proofed.
Persistent Storage for Kubernetes | @KubeSUMMIT @Elastifile #CloudNative #Containers #Serverless #DevOps #Docker #Kubernetes
With container technologies widely recognized as the cloud-era standard for workload scaling and application mobility, organizations are increasingly seeking to support container-based workflows. In particular, the desire to containerize a diverse spectrum of enterprise applications has highlighted the need for reliable, container-friendly, persistent storage. However, to effectively complement today’s cloud-centric container orchestration platforms, persistent storage solutions must blend reliability and scalability with a simple, cloud-native user experience. The introduction of Elastifile’s CSI driver addresses these needs by augmenting containerized workflows with highly-available, scalable NFS file storage delivered via Elastifile Cloud File System…and with no complex, manual storage provisioning required.
Support for Multi-Cluster Kubernetes Applications | @KubeSUMMIT @Rancher_Labs #CloudNative #Serverless #DevOps #AWS #Kubernetes
Applications with high availability requirements must be deployed to multiple clusters to ensure reliability. Historically, this has been done by pulling nodes from other availability zones into the same cluster. However, if the cluster failed, the application would still become unavailable. Rancher’s support for multi-cluster applications is a significant step forward, solving this problem by allowing users to select the application and the target clusters, providing cluster specific data. Rancher then initiates deployment to those clusters.
Multi-Cloud Kubernetes Solution for Healthcare | @KubeSUMMIT @ClearDataCloud #CloudNative #Serverless #Docker #Kubernetes
With the new Kubernetes offering, ClearDATA solves one of the largest challenges in healthcare IT around time-to-deployment. Using ClearDATA’s Automated Safeguards for Kubernetes, healthcare organizations have access to the container orchestration to dynamically deploy new containers on demand, monitor the health of each container for threats and seamlessly roll back faulty application updates to a previous version, avoid system-wide downtime and ensure secure continuous access to patient data.
Which Serverless Platform Is For You? | @KubeSUMMIT #DevOps #CloudNative #Serverless #AWS #Docker #Kubernetes
In 2014, Amazon announced a new form of compute called Lambda. We didn’t know it at the time, but this represented a fundamental shift in what we expect from cloud computing. Now, all of the major cloud computing vendors want to take part in this disruptive technology.
In his session at 20th Cloud Expo, John Jelinek IV, a web developer at Linux Academy, will discuss why major players like AWS, Microsoft Azure, IBM Bluemix, and Google Cloud Platform are all trying to sidestep VMs and containers with heavy investments in serverless computing, when most of the industry has its eyes on Docker and containers.
Serverless and Container Orchestration | @KubeSUMMIT #CloudNative #AWS #Docker #Kubernetes #Serverless
Here to help unpack insights into the new era of using containers to gain ease with multi-cloud deployments are our panelists: Matt Baldwin, Founder and CEO at StackPointCloud, based in Seattle; Nic Jackson, Developer Advocate at HashiCorp, based in San Francisco, and Reynold Harbin, Director of Product Marketing at DigitalOcean, based in New York. The discussion is moderated by Dana Gardner, principal analyst at Interarbor Solutions.
CloudBees Makes Kubernetes a Reality for Enterprise DevOps | @KubeSUMMIT @CloudBees #Serverless #Kubernetes
CloudBees,
Inc., the hub of enterprise Jenkins and DevOps, today announced a
major investment in Kubernetes technology across all areas of the
business. CloudBees has made Kubernetes a key part of its long-term
strategy by fully supporting it in CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise,
acquiring key Kubernetes talent and joining the Cloud Native Computing
Foundation. With today’s news, CloudBees offers the industry’s first
Kubernetes-based, enterprise-ready continuous delivery solution,
CloudBees Jenkins Enterprise, delivering multi-cloud portability.

51 Useful Docker Tools | @KubeSUMMIT #CloudNative #DevOps #Serverless #AWS #Docker #Kubernetes #Monitoring
Docker is sweeping across startups and enterprises alike, changing the way we build and ship applications. It’s the most prominent and widely known software container platform, and it’s particularly useful for eliminating common challenges when collaborating on code (like the «it works on my machine» phenomenon that most devs know all too well). With Docker, you can run and manage apps side-by-side – in isolated containers – resulting in better compute density. It’s something that many developers don’t think about, but you can even use Docker with ASP.NET.
