{"id":8649,"date":"2013-08-22T23:24:11","date_gmt":"2013-08-22T23:24:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.cloudcomputing-news.net\/news\/2013\/aug\/23\/amazon-cloud-league-its-own-and-why-it-may-never-change\/"},"modified":"2013-08-22T23:24:11","modified_gmt":"2013-08-22T23:24:11","slug":"amazon-cloud-in-league-of-its-own-and-why-it-may-never-change","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/amazon-cloud-in-league-of-its-own-and-why-it-may-never-change\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon cloud \u201cin league of its own\u201d \u2013 and why it may never change"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Two separate pieces of research released this week have found its way to CloudTech HQ, and both have come to the same conclusion: Amazon Web Services (AWS) is miles ahead of the competition in terms of providing infrastructure as a service (IaaS) and platform as a service (PaaS) services.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&rsquo;t surprising in itself, but let&rsquo;s not forget these companies Amazon is skinning are among the biggest on the planet.<\/p>\n<p>Gartner&rsquo;s latest Magic Quadrant, on IaaS, unsurprisingly put Amazon in its leaders category, well ahead of its competitors in both ability to execute and completeness of vision.<\/p>\n<p>The analyst house cited AWS&rsquo; product portfolio and pricing structure in particular, and estimated that its operations are five times larger than a dozen of its major competitors combined.<\/p>\n<p>Want more proof?
