{"id":42703,"date":"2022-01-10T18:47:14","date_gmt":"2022-01-10T18:47:14","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/?guid=2e3bd957e57ef7cbcbaa9a533bbd82fb"},"modified":"2022-01-10T18:47:14","modified_gmt":"2022-01-10T18:47:14","slug":"lg-electronics-joins-the-ibm-quantum-network","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/lg-electronics-joins-the-ibm-quantum-network\/","title":{"rendered":"LG Electronics joins the IBM Quantum Network"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field-name-field-author field-type-node-reference field-label-hidden\"><br \/>\n      <span class=\"field-item even\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/authors\/praharsha-anand\">Praharsha Anand<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n  <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-field-published-date field-type-datetime field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\"><span class=\"date-display-single\">10 Jan, 2022<\/span><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"short-teaser\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/\" title=\"\" class=\"combined-link\"><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body\">\n<p>LG Electronics has joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/search\/ibm\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/search\/ibm\">IBM<\/a> Quantum Network to expand industry applications of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/technology\/31818\/what-is-quantum-computing\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/technology\/31818\/what-is-quantum-computing\">quantum computing<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>IBM will give LG Electronics access to its quantum computing systems and Qiskit, in addition to the firm&#8217;s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.co.uk\/software\/28109\/what-is-open-source\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.co.uk\/software\/28109\/what-is-open-source\">open source<\/a> quantum information software development kit.<\/p>\n<p><!--wysiwyg_see-related_plugin--><\/p>\n<p>\nThe resources will help LG electronics augment big data, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.co.uk\/strategy\/28181\/what-is-ai\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.co.uk\/strategy\/28181\/what-is-ai\">artificial intelligence<\/a>\u00a0(AI), connected cars, digital transformation, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/cloud-computing\/28037\/what-is-iot\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/cloud-computing\/28037\/what-is-iot\">Internet of Things (IoT)<\/a>, and robotics applications.<\/p>\n<p>Further, with IBM Quantum technology, LG can capture the latest advances and applications from quantum computing, in accordance with IBM&#8217;s quantum roadmap.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Using IBM Quantum technology, LG will also train its employees, allowing the company to examine potential breakthroughs for its industry.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Based on our open innovation strategy, we plan to use IBM Quantum to develop our competency in quantum computing,&#8221; said Byoung-Hoon Kim, CTO and executive vice president of LG Electronics.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We aim to provide customers with value that they have not experienced so far by leveraging quantum computing technology in future businesses.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>As part of the IBM Quantum Summit in November 2021, IBM unveiled its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/server-storage\/high-performance-computing-hpc\/361542\/ibm-launches-most-powerful-quantum-chip\" data-cke-saved-href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.com\/server-storage\/high-performance-computing-hpc\/361542\/ibm-launches-most-powerful-quantum-chip\">Eagle quantum computing processor<\/a> with 127 qubits.
