{"id":42243,"date":"2021-07-02T12:18:36","date_gmt":"2021-07-02T12:18:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/?guid=61c9cdbe4d65eb3d669c89956ee23037"},"modified":"2021-07-02T12:18:36","modified_gmt":"2021-07-02T12:18:36","slug":"hpe-acquires-zerto-for-374-million","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/hpe-acquires-zerto-for-374-million\/","title":{"rendered":"HPE acquires Zerto for $374 million"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field-name-field-author field-type-node-reference field-label-hidden\"><br \/>\n      <span class=\"field-item even\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/authors\/daniel-todd\">Daniel Todd<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n  <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-field-published-date field-type-datetime field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\"><span class=\"date-display-single\">2 Jul, 2021<\/span><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"short-teaser\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/\" title=\"\" class=\"combined-link\"><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.channelpro.co.uk\/search\/site\/hpe\" >HPE<\/a>\u00a0has announced it has entered into a definitive agreement to acquire cloud data management and protection specialist Zerto for $374 million.<\/p>\n<p>The move expands HPE GreenLake and continues HPE Storage\u2019s shift to a cloud-native, software-defined data services business, the company said.<\/p>\n<p>Zerto\u2019s journal-based continuous data protection (CDP) technology includes disaster recovery, backup, and data mobility in a single platform that spans on-premises, hybrid and multi-cloud environments.<\/p>\n<p>Zerto will be available as a service through HPE GreenLake and Data Services Cloud Console.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZerto\u2019s market-leading cloud data management and protection software expands HPE GreenLake cloud data services, allowing customers to protect their data and rapidly act on insights, from edge to cloud,\u201d commented Antonio Neri, president and CEO of HPE.<\/p>\n<p>The solution is designed to help customers recover quickly from ransomware, cyber attacks, and other planned data downtime, returning data to its pre-attacked state.<\/p>\n<p>Zerto also easily replicates and migrates data between VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V environments, as well as natively to AWS and Microsoft Azure.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCustomers continue to face significant issues managing data complexity across hybrid and multi-cloud environments,\u201d said Tom Black, senior vice president and general manager of HPE Storage.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cZerto further positions HPE to help solve these customer challenges and become the leader in data management and protection through HPE GreenLake cloud services.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Founded in 2009, Zerto is co-headquartered in Herzliya, Israel and Boston. The firm\u2019s 500 employees serve more than 9,000 customers \u2013 including enterprises and 350 MSPs.<\/p>\n<p>HPE says the addition of Zerto will \u201csignificantly accelerate\u201d its transformation to become a leading data management and protection provider, while Zerto will benefit from HPE\u2019s global scope and presence.<\/p>\n<p>The acquisition is expected to close during HPE\u2019s fourth quarter, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.
