{"id":41459,"date":"2020-10-19T10:53:26","date_gmt":"2020-10-19T10:53:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/?guid=5219702c13a57797d90d1d82decb0cbc"},"modified":"2020-10-19T10:53:26","modified_gmt":"2020-10-19T10:53:26","slug":"atlassian-to-end-on-prem-support-by-2024-in-major-cloud-pivot","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/atlassian-to-end-on-prem-support-by-2024-in-major-cloud-pivot\/","title":{"rendered":"Atlassian to end on-prem support by 2024 in major cloud pivot"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field-name-field-author field-type-node-reference field-label-hidden\"><br \/>\n      <span class=\"field-item even\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/authors\/keumars-afifi-sabet-0\">Keumars Afifi-Sabet<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n  <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-field-published-date field-type-datetime field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\"><span class=\"date-display-single\">19 Oct, 2020<\/span><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"short-teaser\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/\" title=\"\" class=\"combined-link\"><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body\">\n<p>Australian software company Atlassian will end support for all of its on-premise server products from 2024\u00a0as it plots a\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.co.uk\/node\/354993\" >major shift to the cloud<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>From 2 February 2021, customers will no longer be able to purchase or request a quote for a new server product, while prices will increase for a host of the company\u2019s on-prem products, with a view to discontinuation three years later.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The 10 services\u00a0which will no longer be supported from 2 February 2024\u00a0include Jira Service Desk Server, Bitbucket Server\u00a0and Jira Software Server, among other core Atlassian products.<\/p>\n<p><!--wysiwyg_see-related_plugin--><\/p>\n<p>\n&#8220;From staying ahead of the latest regulatory and security requirements to expanding our ecosystem with a new development platform and introducing flexible plans, we\u2019ve continuously invested in our cloud tools so that your teams can work flexibly and innovate quickly,\u201d said Atlassian co-founder and co-CEO Scott Farquhar.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;But, when it comes to our mission of unleashing the potential of every team \u2013 including yours \u2013 you need us to move faster and go even further.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Atlassian will offer on-prem support in the form of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.co.uk\/security\/357456\/weekly-threat-roundup-windows-10-adobe-and-sonicwall-vpns\" >bug fixes<\/a>\u00a0for server products until 2022, after which point only critical flaws will be addressed, through to 2024.<\/p>\n<p>The company says offering three years of support and maintenance will help customers transition to the cloud, in addition to loyalty discounts for eligible customers to upgrade to its cloud or\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.co.uk\/strategy\/29134\/what-is-a-datacentre\" >data centre<\/a>\u00a0products at a lower price.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s Atlassian Migration Program (AMP) also provides customers with a step-by-step guide, free migration tools, a dedicated migration support team, and a free\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.itpro.co.uk\/cloud\/354568\/why-lift-and-shift-is-an-outdated-approach\" >cloud migration<\/a>trial for up to 12 months.<\/p>\n<p>For customers for whom three years is not enough, the firm will also offer a robust self-managed enterprise edition, Atlassian Data Center.
