Salesforce has quietly shuttered Einstein Voice Assistant and Einstein Voice Skills<\/a> as it shifts focus towards its\u00a0newly released Salesforce Anywhere app<\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n

The Einstein Voice Assistant first launched in\u00a0beta last year. It’s\u00a0an\u00a0extension of the company’s Einstein Voice platform and allowed\u00a0users to interact with the\u00a0Salesforce<\/a>\u00a0platform via a mobile app or smart speaker device.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Salesforce claims the\u00a0AI helper was more advanced than other digital assistants on the market, such as\u00a0Alexa<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0Cortana<\/a>, as it could be taught to recognise\u00a0a company’s specific jargon and acronyms.<\/p>\n

\nEinstein Voice Skills, which debuted in beta last November,\u00a0enabled\u00a0developers and admins can build custom voice-powered apps for employees\u00a0to replace any type of manual data entry or manual Salesforce navigation.<\/p>\n

As spotted by\u00a0Voicebot.ai<\/a><\/em>, Salesforce has killed off both products less than two years after they first debuted. A notice on the Salesforce website confirms that\u00a0\u201cEinstein Voice Assistant is scheduled to be retired on July 10, 2020,\u201d and that it applies to the online Salesforce system and both the iOS and\u00a0Android<\/a>\u00a0Salesforce mobile apps.<\/p>\n

However, the greater Einstein AI platform is not going away\u00a0and Salesforce will continue to release updates\u00a0and add new features.\u00a0<\/p>\n

“Voice is a priority for us at Salesforce, and voice capabilities are built into various product and Platform services,” a Salesforce spokesperson said in a statement.<\/p>\n

“For example,\u00a0Service Cloud Voice<\/a>\u00a0and Einstein Call Coaching are both based on voice technology, and the new Salesforce Anywhere app will also contain voice capabilities. At this time we\u2019re discontinuing our betas of Einstein Voice Assistant and Einstein Voice Skills.<\/p>\n

“Our learnings will continue to inform our new product, the Salesforce Anywhere App. The app will include voice functionality in a new reimagined way to increase remote productivity, ease of use and collaboration.”<\/p>\n
