{"id":40814,"date":"2020-05-04T13:56:25","date_gmt":"2020-05-04T13:56:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/?guid=25e4b1f50bb2d014d7d83573a74551b3"},"modified":"2020-05-04T13:56:25","modified_gmt":"2020-05-04T13:56:25","slug":"uk-government-wants-remote-working-to-continue-after-lockdown","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/uk-government-wants-remote-working-to-continue-after-lockdown\/","title":{"rendered":"UK government wants remote working to continue after lockdown"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field-name-field-author field-type-node-reference field-label-hidden\"><br \/>\n      <span class=\"field-item even\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/authors\/bobby-hellard\">Bobby Hellard<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n  <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-field-published-date field-type-datetime field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\"><span class=\"date-display-single\">4 May, 2020<\/span><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"short-teaser\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/\" title=\"\" class=\"combined-link\"><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body\">\n<p>Office workers will be urged to continue <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/collaboration\/8482\/perfecting-your-remote-working-strategy\" >working from home<\/a>\u00a0as part of the UK government&#8217;s roadmap to easing\u00a0lockdown restrictions, according to reports.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The proposal is among a list of guidelines drawn up by the Department for Business, Energy &amp; Industrial Strategy (BEIS) following consultations with bosses, unions and trade bodies.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The documents are thought to be a crucial element of an announcement from Boris Johnson on how the government plans to ease the lockdown in order to\u00a0get the UK&#8217;s economy moving, which he is expected to make on Thursday, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ft.com\/content\/67cd0087-d2d8-4a69-bf7e-7950712f9d7c\" ><em>The Financial Times<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><!--wysiwyg_see-related_plugin--><\/p>\n<p>\nUK deaths due to the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/search\/site\/coronavirus\" >coronavirus<\/a> increased by 315 over the weekend to 28,446, but the government said last week that the country had &#8220;passed the peak&#8221;.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>With the public and businesses now asking when they can return to work, the government is concerned about transport systems being overwhelmed, so those that can work from home will be encouraged to continue to do so after the lockdown is lifted. Businesses will also be asked to monitor the mental and physical health of these employees.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>The daily routines of those that return to the office will\u00a0change significantly, according to the guidelines.
