{"id":37124,"date":"2018-12-12T12:00:11","date_gmt":"2018-12-12T12:00:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/?guid=d958ac4e13d90aa9c082ecc72848dde3"},"modified":"2018-12-12T12:00:11","modified_gmt":"2018-12-12T12:00:11","slug":"symantec-and-fortinet-team-up-to-deliver-comprehensive-cloud-security-service","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/symantec-and-fortinet-team-up-to-deliver-comprehensive-cloud-security-service\/","title":{"rendered":"Symantec and Fortinet team up to deliver comprehensive cloud security service"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"field field-name-field-author field-type-node-reference field-label-hidden\"><br \/>\n      <span class=\"field-item even\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/authors\/daniel-todd\">Daniel Todd<\/a><\/span><br \/>\n  <\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-field-published-date field-type-datetime field-label-hidden\">\n<div class=\"field-items\">\n<div class=\"field-item even\"><span class=\"date-display-single\">12 Dec, 2018<\/span><\/div>\n<\/p><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p class=\"short-teaser\">\n<a href=\"https:\/\/www.cloudpro.co.uk\/\" title=\"\" class=\"combined-link\"><\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"field field-name-body\">\n<p> Cyber security firms Symantec and Fortinet have announced an expansive partnership that aims to deliver comprehensive security services across endpoint, network and cloud environments.<\/p>\n<p>As part of the deal, Fortinet\u2019s FortiGate Next-Generation Firewall (NGFW) will be integrated into Symantec\u2019s cloud-delivered Web Security Service (WSS), resulting in \u201cthe most comprehensive set of cloud-delivered threat prevention capabilities in a single service on the market\u201d, according to the companies.<\/p>\n<p>Symantec\u2019s endpoint protection will also be combined with the Fortinet Security Fabric platform to provide customers with real-time, actionable threat intelligence and automated response to tackle exploit-driven attacks and advanced malware.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the first step in this technology partnership, we plan to deliver best-of-breed security through the combination of enterprise-class advanced firewall controls to Symantec\u2019s industry-leading network security service,\u201d said Art Gilliland, EVP and GM of enterprise products at Symantec.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough this partnership, we hope to provide joint customers the power of Symantec\u2019s Integrated Cyber Defense Platform bolstered by Fortinet\u2019s leading NGFW in an integrated solution that\u2019s easy to use and deploy.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Interoperability between Fortinet\u2019s SD-WAN technology will also be certified to work with Symantec\u2019s WSS through the latter\u2019s Technology Integration Partner Program (TIPP), while the agreement will also see both firms engage in joint go-to-market activities.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cUpon completion of the integration, Symantec cloud web gateway customers will be able to benefit from Fortinet\u2019s enterprise-class advanced firewall controls, and for the first time ever, Fortinet customers will be able to purchase the industry-leading FortiGate Next-Generation Firewall via FWaaS,\u201d said John Maddison, SVP of products and solutions at Fortinet.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWith the addition of Symantec as a Fortinet Fabric-Ready Partner, Symantec\u2019s endpoint security solution will be validated to seamlessly integrate with the Fortinet Security Fabric platform to provide more consistent and effective protection for joint customers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Some elements of the Fortinet Security Fabric have already been integrated with Symantec Endpoint Protection and the companies are planning to explore further possibilities in the future.
