I was subjected to 45 minutes of lecturing while strapped into the dentist chair:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou don\u2019t brush enough times a day. You don\u2019t brush long enough. You don\u2019t brush correctly. You aren\u2019t using the right type of toothbrush. You aren\u2019t replacing the brush head soon enough. You aren\u2019t flossing enough. You aren\u2019t flossing correctly. You aren\u2019t using the right type of floss.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Good lord! It\u2019s any wonder that my teeth aren\u2019t just falling out of my head!!<br \/>\nNo one likes being lectured. It\u2019s not constructive and after a while, you just turn it off.  That\u2019s probably similar to the feeling of going to these Big Data conferences \u2013 constantly being told what you aren\u2019t doing right. And maybe I\u2019m guilty of doing that as well.
