{"id":2894,"date":"2012-07-30T23:05:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-30T23:05:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cloudcomputing.sys-con.com\/node\/2322426"},"modified":"2012-07-30T23:05:00","modified_gmt":"2012-07-30T23:05:00","slug":"yahoos-rejected-ceo-takes-hurt-feelings-leaves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/yahoos-rejected-ceo-takes-hurt-feelings-leaves\/","title":{"rendered":"Yahoo&#8217;s Rejected CEO Takes Hurt Feelings &amp; Leaves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yahoo\u2019s short-lived interim CEO Ross Levinsohn, who was replaced by the board two weeks ago by a bright shiny blonde from Google, said Monday that he\u2019s leaving the company. <\/p>\n<p>He didn\u2019t say if he had a destination. <\/p>\n<p>He wasn\u2019t expected to stay after Marissa Mayer got there. <\/p>\n<p>As CEO Levinsohn succeeded in defusing the ill-considered infringement suit his fired predecessor Scott Thompson lodged against Facebook and calmed the water roiled by Thompson\u2019s sudden departure caused by phony academic credentials. <\/p>\n<p>The board, led by proxy fight victor Dan Loeb, who discovered Thompson\u2019s fib, traded the media and advertising executive for a technologist it\u2019s expecting to make Yahoo\u2019s web sites more relevant. <\/p>\n<p>Levinsohn, who worked at Fox Interactive Media where he bought MySpace and cut a huge ad deal with Google as well as HBO and AltaVista, joined Yahoo in late 2010 to run its media sites and Americas ad sales. <\/p>\n<p>Yahoo and Mayer acknowledged his contributions.
