{"id":2884,"date":"2012-07-30T15:19:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-30T15:19:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cloudcomputing.sys-con.com\/node\/2322203"},"modified":"2012-07-30T15:19:00","modified_gmt":"2012-07-30T15:19:00","slug":"oracle-buys-xsigo-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/oracle-buys-xsigo-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Oracle Buys Xsigo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A week ago VMware said it was buying Nicira for $1.26 billion for its cloudy software-defined network virtualization.<br \/>\nMonday morning Oracle said it\u2019s buying Xsigo Systems for its cloudy software-defined network virtualization.<br \/>\nOracle\u2019s not saying what it\u2019s paying and it\u2019s unclear how much funding the eight-year-old company took in from VCs like Kleiner Perkins, Khosla Ventures, Greylock Partners and North Bridge Venture Partners.<br \/>\nLike the Nicira acquisition, Xsigo in Oracle\u2019s hands threatens Cisco and Juniper.<br \/>\nXsigo, which has worked with Oracle in the past, is more established than the fledging Nicira.
