{"id":2454,"date":"2012-07-02T22:41:00","date_gmt":"2012-07-02T22:41:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/cloudcomputing.sys-con.com\/node\/2306850"},"modified":"2012-07-02T22:41:00","modified_gmt":"2012-07-02T22:41:00","slug":"amazons-cloud-is-back-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/icloud.pe\/blog\/amazons-cloud-is-back-up\/","title":{"rendered":"Amazon&#8217;s Cloud Is Back Up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It took Amazon until midday Monday to say that its cloud was back up after it crashed in a nasty electrical storm on the East Coast Friday night bringing down Amazon-dependent companies like Netflix, Instagram, Heroku and Pinterest. <\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of thousands of households were still without power Monday. <\/p>\n<p>The thunderstorm blew out power for a little while at its giant Virginia data center and Amazon\u2019s backup power in one of its data centers longer. <\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s the third time Amazon has gone down since April. It experienced a power outage in Virginia a couple of weeks ago. <\/p>\n<p>This time EC2, Relational Database, Elastic MapReduce, Elastic Beanstalk and Elastic Block Storage services in at least one of the 10 data centers it reportedly has in Virginia were impacted.
